Mount Legnone is the highest peak of the Orobie Lecchesi and thanks to its characteristic pyramid shape at its far end top , it comes up like being a rough and wild summit.
It is one of the most popular mountain in the area , especially for the paths reaching the summit. The most walked on and safest path starts from the hamlet Roccoli Lorla in Valvarrone and is recommended to experienced hikers.
The way up to Alpe Campo instead , with the summer pasture and Griera mountain hut , is a route suitable to everyone , to be covered on foot or by mountain bike along the military road running from Pagnona. Here it’s possible to have a break before reaching the top to enjoy genuine tastes and live the experience of living in a mountain hut.
Legnoncino , linked in the name to its greater brother , reaches out to the lake from the mountain ridge where it appears and it’s not to be considered less important.
Thanks to its location it has itineraries rich in landscapes alternating views over the lake , the Valvarrone and the beginning of Valtellina offering a special mix of history and nature. In these places , in fact , many fortifications of the Cadorna Line dating back to the First World War are preserved. The summit can be reached with little effort through a beautiful dirt trail once again starting from Roccoli Lorla.
